Ever thought that librarianship might be the career for you? The Teen Internship Program will let you shadow librarians, find out what libraries are really all about, and see if it's the right path for you! One intern will be selected each semester to take part in this intensive, one-on-one mentoring experience. All teens entering grades 9-12 in the New Braunfels area are encouraged to apply. Applications are due August 31, 2018 either in person or by email. Download an application for more information today!
It's hard to believe, but it's been a long time since those of us running the library have been teens. We need your help to know what teens are looking for and how we can help them be happier, smarter, and healthier people. Starting in Fall 2018, we are establishing a Youth Advisory and Leadership at your Library (Y'ALL) Board. This board will consist of one representative from each middle and high school in the New Braunfels area, in addition to a homeschool representative and one at-large representative. This board will meet once a month to plan events, tell us what's trending, and have fun! If you're interested in this opportunity, contact your school librarian today. If you're homeschooled or are interested in the at-large position, email teen services librarian Ariel Cummins at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We want you (yes, YOU!) to have a voice in what happens at your library. All teens ages 13-18 with current NBPL library cards are invited to apply to be a Teen Advisory Trustee on the New Braunfels Public Library Advisory Board. This position cannot vote on policies, but will be encouraged to participate in discussions and offer a unique perspective on issues. This program requires a one-year commitment. Interested? Download an application or stop by the library to pick one up.
