Provides important consumer information on a wide variety of topics including filing a consumer complaint, latest scams against Texans, identity theft, insurance, elder abuse, health care, home, real estate, travel, and many more subjects that affect consumers. 

Federal Trade Commission

Provides latest consumer news and alerts, information on free annual credit reports, reporting identity fraud, filing a consumer complaint, consumer-related policies, tips and advice, avoiding scams, legal proceedings of consumer fraud cases, and much more. 

 

Consumer Protection Safety Commission

Product recalls, safety education, news,  report unsafe products, COVID-19 home safety, fire safety, cribs and infant products, business education, statistics and reports, and regulations, laws, and standards. 

Better Business Bureau

Search for a business, find BBB rating, file a complaint, report a scam, tips for businesses during the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Texas Department of Insurance

Provides information on Texas insurers COVID-19 response, flood insurance, health insurance, home and auto insurance, mediation and arbitration, windstorm inspections, workers' compensation, surprise medical bill help, apply or renew for an agent or adjuster license, and information from the State Fire Marshal.

Privacy Rights Clearinghouse

Nonprofit organization that endeavors to protect consumer privacy.  Strives to provide clarity for complex issues, publishes educational materials and answers consumer questions.  Topics include information on data breaches, background checks, credit reports, credit monitoring, debt collection, identity theft, data brokers, scams, and government IDs.
