About the Westside

The Westside Community Center (WCC) was acquired by the City of New Braunfels in August 2011.  Its 9000 square feet hold a lot!

  • Commercial kitchen
  • Lunchroom
  • Meeting rooms
  • Public library branch

The WCC caters to individuals of all ages and offers programming for the local communitiy and the City of New Braunfels.

Tuesday : Noon - 8 pm
Wednesday: Noon - 8 pm
Thursday: 9 am - 5 pm
Friday: 9 am - 5 pm
Saturday: 9 am - 5 pm

The WCC Library is a branch of the New Braunfels Public Library, so you can do everything here that you could do there!

  • Check out books and movies
  • Pick up items on reserve
  • Use the public access computers
  • Use the free wi-fi
  • Copy, scan, and fax documents
  • Read magazines and newspapers
  • Go to children's storytimes
  • Pick up Mobile Food Pantry vouchers
  • Pick up free green waste bags
  • Save money by using our Coupon Library

And you can return your library books outside or inside!

The WCC Community Garden was included in the NBU 2017 Drought Tolerant Landscape Contest Calendar (April).               

The garden also won the 2016 Commercial Rain Barrel Contest!

Master Gardeners teach school children the basics of growing a garden at home.

Concerned About Falling?

   COMING BACK in MARCH (3/7 to 3/30)


Tuesday and Thursdays, 9 - 11 am

Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities.

"A Matter of Balance" is an award-winning FREE program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels.  It emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls.

You'll learn to:

  • View falls as controllable
  • Set goals for increasing activity
  • Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
  • Exercise to increase strength and balance


PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.  Call (830) 221-4630 and get yourself enrolled today in this free program from the Alamo Area Agency on Aging.
